Senate Panel Approves Climate Change Bill Despite GOP Boycott

In a rare move, Democrats on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on Thursday approved a sweeping climate change bill without any Republicans present.
Republicans had boycotted the committee’s work on the bill, insisting on a cost analysis of the proposal by the EPA.
The bill would require cuts in greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent over the next decade from 2005 levels. But Republicans warned the bill would leave consumers with higher energy bills.
“This would be the largest tax increase in the history of America,” Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., one of the seven committee Republicans, told Fox News. “I can only conclude that they don’t want the public to know how much money this thing is going to cost.”
Inhofe, who said the committee typically needs two minority members present to advance a bill to the floor, called the vote Thursday “unprecedented.”
One Democrat, Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., voted against the bill.
But it still appears unlikely that the Senate will approve the legislation this year. Inhofe said the legislation is “dead.”
A bipartisan group of senators is trying to craft a compromise bill in hopes of attracting broader support.

“So Called” what the earth has not warmed up in the last century??? Y’all better wake up and educate y’all selves. There is no doubt or debate that the earth warmed last century. There may be some debate as to why. I fall on the side that it is man made combined with mother nature. We cannot control mother nature but we can control man made. So why not cut back on the man made reasons to help slow down the effects of Global Warming??? Ohhhh I know why because that just seems tooooo common sense for y’all neo-cons that only know how to oppose anything the progressives present!!!

Well, I can we can assume that Patsy is also a climatologist in addtion to being a political scientist.
Actually, there is no debate about global warming (a strictly political term), known by real scientists as climatology, which includes the vast array of sciences affiliated with astronomy, geology and oceanography. Global warming isn’t real and real scientists know this as a FACT. Any scientist that uses a 100 year record to draw any conclusions, particularly dooms-day conclusions (such as E-Gore has done) is a fraud and more than likely using their credentials to promote a political position/agenda.
If you’re really interested in knowing any of the facts, as rigorously determined by extensive scientific study methods, it’s all there right on the internet (or God-forbid, a BOOK) for us all to know. No more secrets and no more bull about using a fake scientific argument to promote a political agenda.
Yes, you’re all busted. Self-hating progressives (and other American-haters) just want to continue to flagellate themselves for their segment of the populations’ overwhelming superiority over the rest of the global population – it is direct and reverse racism at its’ best; it is total self-destruction at its worst. Sick-minded individuals commit suicide and mass homicide every day. This insanity is just another form of that same insidiuos mental illness.

And what kind of Scientist are you to be preaching? Why do y’all turn global warming onto a socialist political issue. No I am not a Scientist but I have read thousands of scientist theories on the effects of global warming. Besides the aerth has warmed in the past century. That is enough proof fro me. We cant control cow farts but we can control human made emmissions.

We’all know that global warming is a political issue becaue it is the socialist and communist political parties that have taken up its’ fake cause… to use it POLITICALLY…duh.

Using one century of data to reperent over 2 mellenia of data is akin to using one case of H1N1 to claim a global pandemic. It is the worst unacceptable case of extrapolation ever- no respected scientist would ever attempt such an obvious violation of scientifc principles.
If you actually read the vast base of knowledge contained in scientific papers on climatology, you would not support this fake science/real political initiative.
Stop lying to support your political idealogy – it’s bad enough the politicians do it, at least they have loads of power and money to gain- what do you have to gain?
